Senior Week 2013- Day 5!

Today's featured graduate: Natalie Addai

Natalie Addai

Year Initiated: Fall 2010
Major: Double Major in Health & Disease and Psychology
Offices Held: Risk Management Chair, President
How Tri Delta has affected my life: Tri Delta has taught me some of the greatest life skills and I will take them with me all of my life. I have also learned the joy that comes from living ensconced in a loving and supportive network. From my time at Tri Delta, I have gained a confidence that I never thought that I would have and I thank everyone one who walked into my life for even a second for the opportunity to learn something new. I am saddened to have to graduate from my collegiate years but I am looking forward to a bright future.
Favourite Quote: “Embrace the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret”
Words of Wisdom:
My favourite story ever is the one of play doh and I embarrassingly just heard it in a movie last year:
Play doh was originally designed as a wall-paper cleaner but it never took off as a business one day he found his sisters children playing with it like it was modeling clay. It was perfect because it was nontoxic and didn’t make the mess that modeling clay does. So he re-released it as a children’s toy and it was very successful. I love this because it shows that “we are all one small adjustment away from making our lives work” so don’t ever give up

Last words: I implore all the collegians to look past any differences that you may have and don’t get bogged down details of running the sorority, cherish the time that you have as a collegian because you don’t know what you have until its gone.

Senior Week 2013- Day 4!

Today's featured graduate: Sydney Conrad

Sydney Conrad

Year Initiated: Fall 2009
Degree: Psychology major with a double minor in Music History & Culture and Environment & Behaviour
Offices Held: Risk Management Chair, Vice President Membership

Favorite quote/Last words:"This is your life. Do what you love and do it often. If you don't like something, change it… Stop over analyzing, life is simple… Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself… Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Live your dream and wear your passion". - A few of my favourite sentences from The Holstee Manifesto.

Words of wisdom: Find what you love to do, what makes you happiest in life, and do that or those things as much as possible. Life falls into place bit by bit when you stop trying to be who you think you should be and you start listening to yourself and becoming who you truly are.

How your view of Tri Delta has changed during your time as a sister: Each member's experience and journey with Tri Delta is completely unique in my opinion. There were definitely times when I thought I was missing something, or not trying hard enough to be a good sister, because other members seemed to have so much more love and dedication to the chapter than I did.

What I realize now is that I never "missed anything" - that would have been impossible because Tri Delta isn't a one thing that I could have done right or wrong... It is who I am, and who I have been since I initiated. We all get different things out of Tri Delta at different times, and that is what makes it so special to be a part of.

As I am about to graduate and move on to being an alum, I look back and see how Tri Delta helped and supported me during the years, and I am filled with nothing but love, respect, and dedication for Tri Delta and my sisters.

Favorite Tri Delta Memory: Bid Day '09: Asia compliments me on my apple bottom jeans and a friendship blossoms.

Favorite quote/Last words: Beware the black hole that is DDD kitchen, but cherish all of its memories.

How Tri Delta has effected your time as an undergrad: TriDelta has been my rock and the place I have called home for the past four years. I am the person that I am today because of my sisters and I will never forget that.

Favorite quote: Luck comes with those who are prepared.
How Tri Delta has effected my undergrad: What can I say, it has definitely been a fun ride! I joined Tri Delta in my third year at U of T and if I could go back in time, I only wish I started as a a member in my frenshman year. It is sentimental to leave my Tri Delta family which is filled with so many talented and beautiful young women, but I am also excited to go on and find my own path. I know that the values I've learned from being a Tri Delt will guide and support me along the way, and the ladies will always be there for me no matter what obstacles lie ahead. I want to express my most humble and deepest gratitude to everyone at Tri Delta, it has been nothing but a joy to share my university experience with you all, thank you!

I've had the opportunity to meet such amazing women who have inspired me to accomplish more than I thought I could. I have no doubt that the friendships I've made will transcend my time in chapter.

Last Words: TriDelta has been such an important part of my life during undergrad. I

Favorite quote/Last words: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson

Words of wisdom: When it comes to your classes, treat each one as if you were working towards a PhD in it. Although you may not find it THAT riveting, your professors do and will expect you to master the material!

Favorite Tri Delta Memory: Walking into the kitchen. You always spend more time than
you expect there laughing and sharing stories with the girls.

Favorite quote/Last words: Although my time in chapter was short, I wouldn't trade it
for the world because of all the life long friendships I've made. This is just the beginning!

Asia Pineau

Year Initiated: Fall 2009
Degree: Specializing in Human Geography with a Minor in Environmental Geography
Offices Held: CEC (x2), VPA and Co-House Manager

Future Plans: I have applied to a masters program in Urban Planning at a few Toronto
universities.  I hope to be involved in shaping the urban landscape of any city in North
America.  I would be lying if I said I didnt want to continue living in Toronto, but I feel Tri Delta and my fellow pledge sisters have inspired me not to be afraid and to try new
things!

Favorite Tri Delta Memory: So many to name, my time in Tri Delta has been an amazing experience so it is hard to pinpoint just one memory that stands out from the rest.  If I had to choose, I would pick Retreat 2010, Crush Party 2013, all of second year and all the late night study parties over the past four years.

How your view of Tri Delta has changed during your time as a sister: As a student, and as a person, we are always going through changes as we navigate through life (a cliche I know, but it's true!). Just thinking about my dynamic undergraduate career, it is nice to look back and realize Tri Delta was one of the unwavering foundations in my life. Tri Delta has allowed me to grow and become the person I am today by offering me continue support and constantly pushing me to be better.  As I prepare to graduate UofT I am so thankful for the lasting friendships that Tri Delta has awarded me and I
can't wait for all of us to start our lives together - class of 2013, we did it!
