June Round- Up: Summer Sister Spotlight!

Brittany Rizzo

“We’re not sisters by birth, but we knew from the start; God put us together to be Sisters by Heart”. While searching through social networking sites about Tri Delta, this saying has become inescapable and I can see why. Not only does it explain my own position in Tri Delta as a whole, but it explains how we are all linked to one another, no matter time and distance. Among millions of Tri Delta’s past and present, we all share one thing in common- a Tri Delta heart.

My name is Brittany Rizzo and I am a proud Member of Delta Delta Delta, Canada Alpha Chapter. I am 19-years-old working towards a Criminology Degree at University of Toronto St. George. Along with my studies, I am a commuter and teach Piano to younger children who are just as inspired by music as I am. My time in Tri Delta thus far can be summed up in 5 words, “a perpetual bond of friendship”.

Any Tri Delta member is ready to be a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a study partner, a venter or a Menchies buddy! Furthermore, being around women who all have extraordinary goals, helps give you the strength that you may have been missing or fearlessness that you may have been seeking. It certainly makes a positive difference when you know there are many other girls in your same position, working towards similar goals. I am a part of something bigger than myself. I am a part of an international Women’s Fraternity full of brilliant,  successful, caring, sweet, ambitious and inspiring women!

Now that it is summer, Tri Delta members are spread across provinces or even countries. Nevertheless, this will not stop our perpetual bond. This summer, I  am teaching Piano and working at a Construction Company in Mississauga as an Administration Assistant. Tackling two jobs while trying to have a social life is definitely a struggle. However, being a Tri Delta member means having the strength and ambition to be all that you can be. I keep that in mind every day when I wake up in the morning. In addition, I am planning a bonding opportunity soon which I am extremely excited for. I am hoping to bring Tri Delta love to my hometown for a pool party to give new members and even older members the opportunity to catch up over what has been missed in Tri Delta time.

As for the upcoming year, I am starting fresh. I have recently gotten into my dream program. Many things will be changing for me but one thing will remain the same, my Tri Delta Heart.

Delta Love,
Brittany Rizzo
