Pledge Class of Fall 2013! |
Here's what she had to say:
"I could start this off by saying that joining Tri Delta is the bestdecision I’ve made here at the University of Toronto, that sisterhood is the most welcoming and comforting feeling, and that Tri Delta is now my home away from home. I could go on for hours and it would sound like what most people expect to hear from any sorority girl but I honestly believe that nobody knows what it truly feels like and how much it means until you’re a part of it yourself- there really aren’t words for it. I was never the girl to turn down an opportunity to make new friends and I knew joining a sorority would be a great experience, but I really underestimated how much Tri Delta would so quickly become a part of my life.
U of T is a massive school, and being a first year (or any year for that matter), it can be daunting, and lonely. I made lots of friends coming here, but I just didn’t feel like I had found my place yet. Through my time at Tri Delta, I have that now. I know where I belong, and I have a group of girls who I care about so much and who make me feel just as cared about. Coming from a small town where everyone knows everyone, moving to Toronto and coming to such a big campus was like a whole new world. Being a part of the Greek life in general really helped give me the sense of community I yearned for, and I’m so proud to represent Tri Delta within it.
I didn’t know a whole lot about sororities in general before I joined - which is why I encourage everyone to learn about them! There are so many positive aspects about sorority life, the list is endless. What have you got to lose? Try to get a sense of each different house and see where you feel you fit best, and who knows… it might just be Tri Delta! When I got my bid, the girls all seemed so excited, it made me feel so great, like they really wanted me there. I accepted my bid into Tri Delta right away! Soon after, I got to be experience the many fun events leading up to initiation, like getting my big (who I love with all my heart), going to socials and philanthropies, and just getting to know my sisters even better through it all. Initiation tied it all together, being such a fun and incredible night! I am so proud to be a sister of Tri Delta; I couldn’t imagine myself without it now. It keeps you busy that’s for sure, but I love every minute of it."
